Sivu Maqungo

TEAM LEADER AND CEO

Sivu Maqungo (BA (Law). LLB. LLM) a Lawyer and a former South African diplomat with international Law expertise and has extensive experience on African issues both economic and political including experience in management and substantive knowledge of international trade law, Oceans Law, Climate Change and international criminal law, was a member of the drafting committee of the International Criminal Court Statute, chairman of G77 and China, Legal adviser to South African Mission to the United Nations, and Board member of India, Brazil, South Africa Fund.

Welile Nhlapo

Head Resource and Goodwill Ambassador

Ambassador Welile Nhlapo has been the Chairperson of the Diamond Kimberly Process since January 2013. He previously served as South Africa’s Ambassador to Washington, DC, until his appointment as National Security Special Advisor to President Jacob Zuma in November, 2009. In June, 2011, he became South Africa’s Special Representative to the Great Lakes countries, including Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda.

Before the Presidency appointment, Mr Nhlapo had been South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States of America. He has served as South Africa’s representative to the African Union mission in Burundi, and earlier as ambassador to the Federal Republic of Ethiopia. Ambassador Nhlapo has extensive experience of working in the Great Lakes region, having also headed President Zuma’s Burundi technical team, when then Deputy President Zuma was mediator in the Burundi conflict.

Mandisa Nkosi

Head of Public Relations

Mandisa Nkosi studied NDip: Multimedia Design at University of Johannesburg. She is a Creative Brand strategist, with vast experience in Graphic/Web design and Creative Project Management. Has a significant background in delivering a variety of creative media and visual communication solutions to individual clients, business owners, and various corporations.
